Chapter 13 is about organization.
There are many patterns of organization to choose from: chronology,
description, definition, cause/effect, process explanation, pro/con, multiple
perspectives, comparison/contrast, strengths/weaknesses, costs/benefits, and
problem/solution. When arranging your argument, make sure to label evidence,
group evidence, use clustering, and use mapping. It is a good idea to create an
outline. Try an informal outline, and if you don’t like it or want to try both,
you can also create an informal outline with topical outlines or sentence
outlines. In my experience, organization can make or break a paper. If you stay
organized and on top of things, you will feel confident and stress-free n
writing your paper. Make a schedule and keep to it, and put your full effort
in. If you do this and stay organized, you will avoid last minute cramming,
avoid forgetting things, avoid all these English class death sentences. Staying
organized in anything can be helpful, but in writing a paper, it is so much
more important because you can’t afford to lose, misplace, or completely forget
important information because of bad organization. No one likes to write
stressed, and with an easy tool like organization to get rid off that stress,
take advantage of it.
